Selling Without Exiting: How LuxNetwork’s Founder Bet On European Scale

From startup to Eurofiber, a founder’s vision turning Luxembourg into a European fiber hub.

When Luc Lutot arrived in Luxembourg over 15 years ago, he didn’t imagine he’d transform the country’s digital infrastructure. Today, his company, LuxNetwork, is joining forces with Eurofiber, a European fiber-optic giant, cementing Luxembourg’s role as a key connectivity hub.

An Entrepreneurial Journey

Lutot’s story begins modestly. In 2010, he launched his first telecom venture from his spare bedroom, with his wife occasionally helping him at data centres. By 2016, an opportunity to acquire Telecom Luxembourg Private Operator, then struggling financially, catapulted his team from four employees to 44 overnight. In 2022, he repeated the feat, acquiring Télécom Luxembourg.com, further strengthening Luxembourg’s digital capacity.

“Luxembourg had great data centres, but the country lacked robust, diversified fiber routes,” Lutot recalls. “We wanted to create real ‘digital motorways’ that could handle critical operations for businesses, banks, and cloud providers without interruption.”

Raising the Stakes

Lutot raised €5 million to build high-speed connections between Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt, and Luxembourg, creating infrastructure designed to meet international standards of speed, reliability, and security. His investments transformed Luxembourg into a modern ICT hub capable of supporting hyperscalers and multinational enterprises.

Joining Eurofiber

In 2026, LuxNetwork was acquired by Eurofiber, which operates a 77,500 km fiber-optic network across Europe. Lutot transitions from CEO to Country Manager for Eurofiber Luxembourg, retaining operational leadership while benefiting from the capital and scale of a European infrastructure group.

“This isn’t an exit,” Lutot stresses. “I’m only halfway through what I want to do. Joining Eurofiber lets me pursue my vision with reduced risk and greater impact across Europe.”

The acquisition reflects a broader trend of consolidation in Europe’s telecom sector, where independent operators are increasingly joining forces with well-capitalised groups to develop future-proof digital infrastructure. Eurofiber, backed by European funds Antin Infrastructure and PGGM, provides the perfect platform for Luxembourg to shine on the continental stage.

A Vision for Luxembourg and Europe

The LuxNetwork brand will remain until 2026, after which it will become Eurofiber Luxembourg. Lutot plans to grow the team and expand projects across the region, aiming for synergy rather than replacement.

From a spare bedroom to a European network, Lutot’s journey embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of calculated risk, visionary thinking, and the drive to turn Luxembourg into a European digital powerhouse.
