Twenty years after its debut, the Seamaster Planet Ocean remains one of Omega’s most recognisable professional dive watches. For 2025, Omega introduces a new generation that does not seek to disrupt its identity, but to refine it.
The collection evolves with measured precision, reinforcing its status as a technical instrument while adopting a more streamlined, contemporary presence. The Planet Ocean stays faithful to its original mission: reliability in extreme environments, combined with everyday wearability.
Three identities, one professional lineage
The new lineup comprises seven references organised around three distinct visual identities. Orange, long associated with Omega’s dive watch heritage, returns with matte orange Arabic numerals and a zirconium dioxide ceramic bezel. The blue version offers a cooler, more understated interpretation, pairing a deep blue ceramic bezel with crisp white markers. The black model adopts a monochrome approach, enhanced by rhodium-finished details that prioritise legibility and restraint. Each variation expresses a specific character, yet all remain grounded in professional functionality.

A slimmer profile built for performance
Beyond the immediate visual evolution, the most significant changes lie in the proportions. Omega has retained the emblematic 42 mm diameter, but reworked the case architecture to achieve a slimmer profile. With thickness reduced to 13.79 mm, the watch sits closer to the wrist, improving comfort without compromising technical performance. This refinement is made possible by a flat sapphire crystal and an internal titanium ring inspired by structural solutions developed for the Ultra Deep collection.
Bracelets and straps have also been redesigned with ergonomics in mind. Integrated metal bracelets feature a clasp with a diving extension, while rubber straps follow the case lines more closely, ensuring stability and comfort both underwater and in everyday conditions. These adjustments reinforce the Planet Ocean’s dual identity as a professional instrument and a watch suited to daily wear.
At the heart of the collection is the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8912. Certified by METAS, the movement delivers high precision, resistance to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss and a power reserve of 60 hours. It also supports the Planet Ocean’s water resistance of 600 metres (60 bar), confirming its credentials as a true dive watch engineered for demanding use.
The launch is accompanied by an international campaign featuring ambassadors Glen Powell and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, reinforcing the collection’s positioning at the intersection of physical performance and contemporary masculinity. Through this latest evolution, Omega does not redefine the Planet Ocean; it sharpens it, offering a more balanced expression of technical mastery, comfort and design maturity.
