The CEO of Luxembourg’s House of Financial Technology is to step down after nine years at the helm. No new successor has been officially announced.
According to a statement, Nasir Zubairi leaves the financial accelerator and fintech hub to join Paytm Europe Luxembourg as CEO.
“The time is right, for the LHoFT and for me personally, for a new chapter,” Zubairi said, adding: “The Foundation is well-positioned for its next phase of growth, with a strong team and mission that will continue to support Luxembourg’s competitiveness in the evolving global financial landscape.”
Zubairi joined LHoFT at its launch in 2017, and has since overseen the flourishing of hundreds of technology-driven ventures in the financial services sector.
Prior to the role, he worked in finance, at institutions including HSBC, ICAP and EBS Dealing Resources and was Director of High Frequency Trading (HFT) at RBS, in London.
In 2022, he was awarded the “Officier de l’Ordre de Mérite du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg” for his commitment to the LHoFT Foundation and contributions to the economy.
Zubairi joins Indian digital payment company Paytm as Chief Executive
Officer of Paytm Europe Payments S.A. where he will lead the establishment and development of Paytm’s European operations.
