The B17 x Forbes Talk is our major monthly business event.
During this session, we will welcome two gemology specialists: Maria and Philippe Guilhem, from the Maison “Guilhem – Megève, jewelers since 1865”. A hunter of rare gems… Philippe Guilhem travels the world in search of superior quality precious and semi-precious stones to complement each sculpture in the Mashandy collection. From the legendary Valley of Rubies in Mogoken, Myanmar, or even Ratnapura in Sri Lanka, to Ilakaka in Madagascar, he unearths multicolored sapphires, rubies, and spinels that contrast beautifully against the various colors of patinated bronze. Philippe’s unique approach is to work directly with the source, sourcing the gems directly from the origins to bypass brokers, allowing him to offer his collector clients the best possible investment. An exciting talk on ethical gem sourcing, investing in non-diamond stones and fine craftsmanship.
